Recently, RKMC's greenhouse gas (GHG) carbon emission mass flow system has received dual type approval from Lloyd's Register (LR) of the UK and Bureau Veritas (BV) of France. It has been certified to monitor 10 types of exhaust gas emissions (including methane and ammonia emissions), making it the first professional environmental protection equipment in China that simultaneously meets all dimensions of international regulations such as IMO MARPOL, EU MRV, and EU ETS. It provides core support for global shipping enterprises to solve the problem of carbon compliance.
近日，RKMC船舶温室气体智能监测系统获英国劳氏LR、法国BV双重型式认可，被认证了监测10种尾气排放质量（包括甲烷和氨气逃逸），成为国内首个同时满足IMO MARPOL、EU MRV、EU ETS全维度国际规范的专业环保设备，为全球航运企业破解碳合规难题提供核心支撑。
Starting from 2023, IMO will enforce the EEXI/CII rating. The EU ETS will include methane and nitrous oxide in its control scope. The international maritime carbon rules have upgraded from a "single accounting" system to a rigid framework of "full gas, full process, and strict verification". LR and BV, as the global authoritative certification bodies for shipping, this time conduct the certification strictly in accordance with the three core norms: the real-time emission data traceability required by IMO MARPOL, the accuracy of annual emission reports for ships over 5,000 gross tons as stipulated by EU MRV, and the monitoring capability of EU ETS for non-CO2 greenhouse gases after 2026. The equipment has passed strict tests such as extreme sea conditions, data tamper-proofing, and simultaneous detection of multiple gases. The certificate becomes the "international passport" for ships to undergo global port inspections and carbon tariff declarations.
Compared with the traditional fuel retroactive method, this system adopts direct exhaust gas measurement technology, which can collect real-time data of CO2, CH4 methane and N2O greenhouse gases, directly generate compliant reports that conform to the IMO DCS and EU MRV templates, with the data error controlled within ±1%, completely avoiding the downgrade of CII rating and the risk of excessive carbon tax in EU ETS caused by manual calculation. For shipping enterprises, accurate data can not only optimize routes and engine operating conditions, reduce carbon intensity ratings, but also achieve cost hedging through EU ETS carbon market transactions; from the environmental perspective, real-time monitoring can force ships to reduce incomplete combustion emissions, simultaneously reducing sulfur oxides/nitrogen oxides, particulate matter and other air pollutants, and helping to achieve the IMO target of reducing carbon intensity by 40% in 2030 and achieving net zero emissions in 2050.
